Nicolas Moutier is the Solo Trombone of the Strasbourg Philharmonic since 2006.

 

Previously, after working with the orchestra of the Capitole de Toulouse (as a 2002 Aïda Competition Laureate), he became solo trombone of the “Musique de l’Air” (french air force orchestra) at the age of 19. Then won the soloist competition at the Strasbourg Philharmonic.

 

Nicolas Moutier is regularly solicited to perform as solo trombone for major french and european orchestras: Paris Opera, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Sinfonieorchester Basel, etc.

 

Nicolas Moutier has played most orchestral solos in the symphonic and lyrical repertoire (Ravel Boléro, Mahler Symphonies (including the 3rd), Bruckner, Schumann, Brahms, Wagner’s operas, Rossini, Strauss , etc.).
